Asake Biography
Ahmed Ololade, professionally known as Asake, is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter born on January 13, 1995, in Lagos State, Nigeria. He is originally from the southwestern part of Nigeria and is of Yoruba heritage.
Asake began his creative journey as a dancer before fully transitioning into music. He studied Theatre and Performing Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he developed his stage presence and performance skills, eventually gaining attention for his unique blend of Fuji-inspired vocals and contemporary Afrobeats.
He gained widespread recognition in 2022 with his breakout single “Omo Ope,” featuring Olamide, which opened the doors to mainstream success. The same year, he released his debut album *Mr. Money with the Vibe*, a chart-topping project that solidified his status as one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising stars.
Over the years, Asake has built a distinctive sound that fuses Afrobeats, amapiano, Fuji, and street-pop elements, creating energetic anthems characterized by catchy chants, layered harmonies, and vibrant production.
Asake is signed to YBNL Nation, founded by Olamide, and has become known for his electrifying performances, unconventional style, and consistent hit releases.
