Mercy Nnenda Chinwo, popularly known as Mercy Chinwo or Mercy Chinwo-Blessed, is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and actress. Born on September 5, 1990, she is one of the most celebrated gospel artistes in Africa, known for her powerful worship songs and spirit-filled performances. She became famous after winning Nigerian Idol Season 2, and since then, she has transformed into a global gospel sensation. Early Life & Education: Mercy Chinwo was born and raised in Rivers State, Nigeria. She started singing at the age of 6, serving in the children's choir before later joining the adult choir in her church. She attended: Goodwill International School Paradise International School International Business Management Institute (IBMI), where she earned a degree in Human Resource Management Music Career Mercy Chinwo kicked off her music journey officially after winning Nigerian Idol in 2012. She released her first singles “Testimony” (2014) and “Igwe” (2016), which introduced her to the gospel music scene. In 2017, she signed with EeZee Conceptz, a top gospel record label headed by Eezee Tee. Her career breakthrough came in 2018 with the release of “Excess Love”, a song that became an anthem across churches, homes, and events globally.
